Account Manager - Solar Job at Karamtara USA, Tampa, FL

  • Karamtara USA
  • Tampa, FL

Job Description

Urgent Opening : Strategic Account Manager – Solar, Location : Tampa, Florida

KARAMTARA USA is seeking a Strategic Account Manager to support one of our largest and most important renewable energy customers. This Tampa-based position will serve as the primary day-to-day commercial contact for the account and will have visibility and involvement across all active projects, orders, quotations, and customer needs.

This is not a traditional outside sales position or project management role, rather, we are looking for someone who can become the customer’s go-to resource — someone who understands their business, knows what is happening across every active project, anticipates issues before they become problems, and coordinates internally to make sure commitments are met.

The Strategic Account Manager will work closely with KARAMTARA’s sales, inside sales, project management, logistics, manufacturing, and leadership teams. A dedicated Project Manager will support transportation, delivery coordination, and detailed project execution, while the Strategic Account Manager maintains overall ownership of the customer relationship and commercial activity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary day-to-day commercial contact for the assigned strategic account.

• Develop strong working relationships throughout the customer organization, including procurement, project management, operations, and leadership.

• Maintain visibility across all active and upcoming projects and understand the status, priorities, risks, and customer expectations associated with each.

• Manage customer inquiries, RFQs, quotations, order entry, purchase orders, releases, changes, and other day-to-day commercial requirements.

• Coordinate closely with the assigned Project Manager, who will manage trucking, shipment coordination, and detailed delivery execution.

• Maintain a clear understanding of production schedules, mill and fabrication lead times, inventory, shipping schedules, and project requirements.

• Follow orders from quotation through production, shipment, delivery, invoicing, and closeout, ensuring commercial issues are addressed quickly.

• Proactively communicate with the customer regarding schedule changes, order status, documentation, pricing questions, and potential issues.

• Work internally across KARAMTARA USA and our manufacturing operations to resolve problems and ensure customer commitments are understood and executed.

• Identify upcoming project opportunities and ensure KARAMTARA is positioned to quote and support future work.

• Support pricing discussions, commercial negotiations, forecasting, and account planning.

• Visit customer offices and project locations as needed and maintain a strong local presence with the customer.

• Become the internal expert on the account — knowing what is happening, what is coming next, where potential problems exist, and what the customer needs from KARAMTARA.

Ideal Background

We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience with a steel service center, steel fabricator, roll former, mill, construction-material supplier, or similar industrial business supporting large construction projects.

The ideal candidate understands both sides of the supply chain: how steel or fabricated products are manufactured and supplied, and how those products ultimately need to arrive and perform on a construction site.

Experience with structural steel, solar, utility-scale renewable energy, transmission, metal buildings, piling, foundations, or other project-based steel products would be especially relevant.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in account management, inside sales, commercial operations, project coordination, steel distribution/fabrication, or a related industrial field.

• Strong understanding of order management and project-based customer requirements.

• Experience reading and working with purchase orders, quotations, specifications, releases, delivery schedules, and commercial documentation.

• Ability to manage a high volume of simultaneous projects and priorities without losing sight of details.

• Strong customer relationship and problem-solving skills.

• Comfortable working across sales, manufacturing, logistics, project management, finance, and executive leadership.

• Highly responsive and comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where priorities can change quickly.

• Steel industry and/or construction industry experience strongly preferred.

• Renewable energy or utility-scale solar experience is helpful but not required.

• Must be based in Tampa, Florida area.
